Doing the Damn Thing (S48: Episode 6)

It’s the mergatory (because yes, I guess we’re still doing this whole fake merge non-merge thing)! 

Quick recap of the highlights: 

The game is officially an individual game as the three tribes move to the Lagi beach. Sai channeled her inner track star to snag the challenge advantage, possibly stiff-arming Charity in the process. Meanwhile, Joe and David unveiled a budding bro-mance built entirely on milk and muscles.

Kyle wins immunity. I’m usually a hater of the Mergatory Immunity Challenges but I actually liked this format and the actual challenge a lot. Shout out, Probst. 

But let’s talk about the real star of the episode… and that is, Star. She just keeps getting better and better. She gave Cedrek a beautiful and compassionate pep talk when he broke down (she’s the ultimate hype woman!). Then next thing you know, she’s goofily dancing her way up to cast her vote at Tribal like it’s the most joyful moment of her life, and ends up accidentally throwing the pen cap across the voting booth. She's silly, she’s heartfelt, she’s pure magic. I love you, Star!!!

RIP Charity. I gotta say.. I think the mergatory boot is the toughest boot of the new era. Being that close to the jury, torture. 

NOW FOR THE LEAGUE

Kyle brought in 25 points this week thanks to earning group reward, and the first individual immunity of the season. 8 of the top 10 Vukelulu members for this week have Kyle on their tribe so he’s proving to be an incredibly valuable player up to this point!. All other point earnings by players were pretty standard.

Alyson Z. took a nice leap from 17th to 8th place. Coach saw a jump from 13th to 5th. And Peach, who is a past Vukelulu League winner who’s returned this season after a brief hiatus, enters 1st place for the first time this season!

Most excitingly, Merge Bonuses will officially be added to your tribe following this week’s episode! If your Merge Bonus was already voted out, well.. Sorry for you. But for everyone else, this is a great opportunity to start earning some more points and to maybe breathe some life back into your tribe if you were starting to fall behind!

With the departure of Charity, Strega Mandi says goodbye to her Sole Survivor.
