Inconceivable (S50: Episode 12)
Even with running the league (and of course wanting to win lol), I ultimately want a good season with a good winner. And for an (allegedly) landmark season like 50, I so badly wanted another iconic win. I wanted to feel the same way I felt seeing Sandra take her crown on Heroes vs. Villains and Tony reign victorious in Winners at War. Hands in the Fans? I am simply devastated. Not that I needed a Cirie win (or Devens, for that matter), but I really wanted to see a player who

Double or Nothing // Everyone Will Be Shooketh! (S50: Episodes 10 + 11)
I seriously had been putting off writing this episode because I was so overwhelmed. Am I now a Mr. Beast fan?? Because that was HANDS DOWN the best twist/advantage/play we’ve had in like 10 years. And why did it work? Because it was SIMPLE. A coin toss. Yes, the stakes were incredibly high, but it put the players in control of their fate. It forced them to make a decision and actually play out the twist, versus “here’s something really crazy, now deal with it,” like we’ve see

I Deserve All of This (S50: Episode 9)
I didn’t hate Jeff playing in the challenge!! I actually thought it was the good kind of fun/a little goofy. I do still eye-roll at them having to earn rice…that’s just not something I find all that fun or interesting. But hey, it worked out, and kudos to Joe, Jonathan, Ozzy, and Tiff for beating... Jeff (lol). While I do think Christian has been hamming it up a bit too much this season, I was extremely disappointed in how his boot occurred. I’m fine with there being conseque

That's Not How I Play Survivor/Double the Fun, Double the Demise (S50: Episodes 7/8)
I find whenever I don’t watch the episodes live, I fall behind on these blog posts/scoring. I'm sorry! I hope everyone understands! These past few episodes had a bunch of new twists within the Survivor cinematic universe. While it was fun to have Dee back, I really had zero expectations for her to make a real deep run in this game. She was so dominant on her first run, she was an "On Fire with Jeff Probst" podcast guest host... her threat level was just way too high. I really

The Blood Moon (S50: Episode 6)
I think the concept (linking it back to the ancient people/lore) and name of a "Blood Moon twist" is great. I also like the idea of a huge merge given how large this cast was. But why was this handled in low-key the worst way possible? One of my biggest disappointments over the past several seasons is how small tribal councils have gotten. At this point, it feels like something Jeff Probst and I will just fundamentally disagree on. Even when the same tribe keeps losing and an

Knife to the Heart/Open Wounds (S50: Episodes 4/5)
I'm sorry that I've gotten so behind on writing recaps...Yes, life. But the reality is I just really can't formulate/draft up my thoughts on this: And apparently this whole scene wasn’t even real!!! The fish was anchored to the ocean floor. I just… And because this is now officially the lowest-rated episode of Survivor ever on IMDb, production is allegedly scrambling to re-edit future episodes (namely the Mr. Beast feature) lolol. So, in order to just keep things moving, tha

Did You Vote for a Swap? (S50: Episode 3)
Ok… we gotta address the elephant in the room: the rap. My household is unfortunately operating without a DVR/rewind/pause feature when watching live, so the episode had already started while Jill was getting out of the shower and literally yelled down, “WTF is happening right now on Survivor?” I… just don’t know. I have been incredibly impressed so far with R-I-Z-G-O-D BABY's game. I think he’s been playing with a masssiiiiveeee disadvantage, not being able to pregame like

Therapy Carousel (S50: Episode 2)
I'm hesitant to say this, but I think so far season 50's been a lot of fun! ...a nice mix of personalities, and messy gameplay! A few things that really stood out to me: I always remembered liking Christian , I think I just forgot how much I love Christian . He’s such a breath of fresh air. One of the most dynamic confessionalists, one of the most disarming social strategists, and honestly just a really clever gameplayer. But… his pooped pants?? ( Yes, you all got blurred/n

Epic Party (S50: Episode 1)
Heading into the Season 50 premiere, I was a bit… nervous, ngl. Even while I was drafting my picks this season, I couldn’t tell how excited I was to see these people play again (or just to have old school personalities like Cirie , Colby , Ozzy , Coach back on my screen). And after that incredible, EPIC montage that kicked off the episode, really highlighting so many classic Survivor moments (mostly pre–season 20), it made me a bit sad that of the 24 contestants competing in
