HOLY SHIT. I meeeeaaaan....I gotta jump right into tribal council. LEGENDARY!!!! NEVER SEEN BEFORE! Finally the Shot in the Dark has a legitimate moment!!
Since the introduction of this new advantage back in Survivor 41, nine players have used their "Shot" (Sydney, Zach, Mayra, Tori, Sami, Matthew, Jami, and Claire) and only one of them, Jami, had drawn a "SAFE" scroll. That all changed this week in one of the most EPIC councils ever!! Kaleb, was so in danger of going home - unanimously, as it turns out - that his only shot of survival was playing his "Hail Mary." And that he did, beating the one-in-six odds! So with Kaleb safe, and there now being a ZERO VOTE tribal, the tribe needed to revote.

And then we got MORE HISTORY!! A SECOND unanimous vote was cast, eliminating singer-songwriter J Maya! As chaotic as some of these players are, one thing's for sure they are certainly organized when it comes to who are the biggest "targets." It will be very interesting to see how Kaleb does moving forward, managing his threat level because he feels like a dead man walking right now. Homie is going to need to win challenges and find some idols!!!
There were some other fun moments this episode let's run through those quickly:
Lulu beach is active and on the hunt for the Sabiyah idol that left the game unplayed. Bruce ends up finding the Beware Advantage and opens it without hesitation. He gets lucky by finding it in the knick of time, thanks to a hilarious and brilliant acting performance by Jake, which causes a diversion as Bruce digs under the shelter.

Our tribes are merged! (....sorta, it's another mergatory situation). But how good was that dancing praying mantis?? Thank you 90 mins!!
These initial introductions are always very interesting. Kaleb (to me) was instantly working the beach way too hard. I get the feeling of not wanting to be perceived as being on the bottom, but as one of two remaining original Lulu tribe members, he can become an easy swing vote that would be instrumental in helping original Reba or original Belo gain control.
Emily on the other hand, played this early merge game pretty flawlessly. She managed to confront Bruce as best she can and seemed to lay down some decent groundwork in developing and maintaining solid relationships moving forward.

And just like how we've witnessed these past 5 seasons, the tribe was split into two teams, competing for their spot in the merge and the only feast they get in their 26 day game. Physically they seemed to be a bit lopsided, so it wasn't;'t all that surprising when Austin, Bruce, Drew, Julie, Kendra and Sifu were victorious over Dee, Emily, J Maya, Jake, Kaleb and Kellie.
At the mergatory feast, the only two names that seemed to come up were J Maya and Kaleb. It felt weird that the original Belo members didn't immediately pounce on Reba offering up one of their own (J Maya), but things are never easy when it comes tto Survivor....

THE LEAGUE!
For those of you who have been paying attention, yes, advantages have been hidden this season!! One of them expired before last week's episode aired...here's what happened:
Historically, the mergatory episode shakes up the league quite a bit, and this season was no different! Kaleb was this week’s highest scoring contestant (37 points), earning big for playing his Shot in the Dark, drawing the SAFE scroll and for naming the episode. League members who also had Austin and Bruce on their tribe also saw big bumps thanks to Austin for risking his vote to extend the life of his idol and Bruce for finding the re-hidden idol over at Lulu beach!
Although singer-songwriter J Maya earned her tribes 18 points on her way out of the game, it was actor-writer-improviser-singer-multi-hyphenate league member, Brendy G who felt it most, as his sole survivor was eliminated. ...Sorry for you.......
Grace made this week's biggest jump from 30-8, whereas Connor was this week's biggest loser falling from 8-29. This just goes to show you how much this game is still up for grabs!
Next week, our Merge bonus picks become live (if they are still in the game) and with that, only 8 league members will be playing with their full tribe of five! Those league members are Amanda S, Anthony, Grace, Katrina, Laura, Matt S, Peach and Tribemaster Brian.

Enjoy tonight's episode!
