S48 Draft Pick Rules!

FIVE YEARS OF VUKELULU! TEN SEASONS (and a virtual covid season) PLAYED! Wow! We never imagined we’d be here, or that this tribe would grow so large, but we're overwhelmed. Thanks to all of you! ...now let's get it on!

To Officially Join This Year’s League:

1. Deadline Sun 3/2 @8pm ET: Submit your power ranking HERE for Season 48's players. (#1 is the person you'd MOST WANT on your tribe, #17 is the player you'd LEAST WANT on your tribe).

  • There are 18 players on this season. You will see that there are only slots for 17 players on the power ranking form. This is because 1 player has already been eliminated in Episode 1, so by the time you are submitting your ranking, there will only be 17 people left in the game. Don’t be **that guy** that drafts a player who has already been voted out. Or do. And we’ll all laugh at you ;)

2. Deadline Sun 3/2 @8pm ET: Venmo your $10 draft entrance fee to @Olivia-Paganelli

  • The winner of the league receives: bragging rights, a great bit to add to their Survivor audition tape, first pick of their placement in next season’s snake draft, AND gets to select a charity of their choice to donate all of our Season 48 pot!

  • What happens if you do not fare well in this season's draft? Our friend/international pop star, Sia always gives awards to some of her favorites...

How the Draft Works:

  • Everyone has the opportunity to watch Episode 1, take some notes, and get the vibes of the cast before submitting their power ranking for this season.

  • Once we receive everyone's power ranking, we will be conducting a snake draft. (This will help us in limiting the number of times a single player can appear on multiple league members’ tribes. This will also allow for every contestant in the game to be drafted onto someone's tribe!) We will be randomly selecting each league member’s placement in the snake draft with the exception of our Season 47 winner, Tyler, and our two Season 47 Sia Award Winners, Ryan and Connor W, who will all get to SELECT their own placement in the draft order.

  • Everyone's tribe will have 4 permanent tribe members (one of which you will select as your Sole Survivor) and 1 Merge Bonus contestant that will join your tribe after the merge/mergatory episode if they're still in the game.

  • We will send you your tribe of 5. You will have until the deadline of Wed 3/5 @8pm ET (AKA before Episode 2 airs) to submit who on your tribe you'd like to pick as:

    • Your SOLE SURVIVOR (the player you think is going to win the game)

    • Your merge bonus contestant (This player will not begin earning points for your tribe until the merge. If they are voted out before the merge, they will not gain any points for your tribe.)

    • ***If we do not hear from you, we will default to the castaway you drafted first as your sole survivor, and the last drafted contestant as your merge bonus.***

VULA, CIVA, LAGI tribes:

POINTS THIS SEASON:

  • Score 3 points per castaway for each week they survive prior to the merge (you will not receive these points if your player is on Extinction/Redemption Island)

  • Score 7 points per castaway if they survive the "Mergatory" episode (you will not receive these points if your player is on Extinction/Redemption Island)

  • Score 10 points per castaway for each week they survive post merge (you will not receive these points if your player is on Extinction/Redemption Island)

Additional Weekly Point Categories:

Some of these point categories may change once we watch episode one/have a better understanding of some of the twists. That being said, the majority of these categories will still stand. You may earn additional weekly bonus points if any of your ‘Fantasy Tribe’ castaways do any of the following visibly on screen:

(Limited to one line per castaway per week. For example, if your castaway cries multiple times in an episode, that’s still just 3 points for that week but if two of your castaways cry, that’s 6 points! Excludes recaps of past episodes and “next time on” sneak previews.)
